Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

['The coming of Vergecio will not seem bad to Your Most Illustrious Lordship, which, to no advantage at all for the affairs of the world, could cost the poor man his life or at least his freedom, and give a weapon to those who have had to speak and to comment against the Pope their whole life. But he is sharp and has well understood how important it is for him to leave here soon. It seems to me that his commission is by letter from the Most Reverend Monsignor de Carpi.' (translation from Burnett 2020b, p. 50)]
