'I went this day to see Mr. Sy, minist[er] of Wintringham. I enquired and lookt about for antiquitys but could find none scarce. ... Here is a place in the town called chappel garth ... I saw also an old coin or two of the Roman emp[ire] that had been found there.' (Jackson 1869, p. 86)
