Lettre du 18 février 1747 (de Florence): "Le annesse medaglie non solamente sembrano, ma sono moderne, e doppiamente spurie, poiché sono tutte copiate, cioè gettate, e non di conio, e il conio delle originali è moderno e dei due medaglioni nemmeno fatto con probabile imitazione dell'antico. Le due minori vengono dai conii del Padovanino, massime quella d'Ottone onde è falsissima. Il pregio loro è pochissimo sopra il valor del metallo, non essendo buone e nemmeno belle quanto basta per falsità. Al dottor Cocchi dispiace che l'illustrissimo signor commendator Buondelmonti consigliere non l'onori con qualche più difficile incomodo riputando egli sua fortuna il poterlo ubbidire" (Archivio Baldasseroni, Epistolario Cocchi, 317/3; Fileti Mazza - Tomasello 1996, p. 78, note).
