Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 14 septembre 1746 (de Florence) : He has a son to help him, but explains that the work will be slow because of his being obliged to earn his living and be an old man of many arts, viz., attending the sick, lecturing on anatomy, acting as Keeper and secretary of the Medicean treasury of coins in Florence, to which are added exhausting family cares. He adds a plea to O. to put in his library this copy of the pamphlet on certain seals («cerae») which he has lately brought. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 483 fols. 181-184).
