Lettre du 23 juillet 1735 (de Venise): "Ho parlato i giorni passati con S. E. Cappello intorno alle consapute medaglie, e l’ho esortato a rimettersi alla convenienza e all’onesto, da cui ella non sarebbe mai per ritirarsi. Ella conosce il carattere di quel Signore, il quale in oltre è stato maggiormente intestato da un Francese, che i dì passati fu a visitare il suo studio, e gli diede ad intendere, che quelle medaglie erano rarissime, e che valevano in Francia molto più di quello che ne aveva dimandato a lei. A chi non vuol comperare, costa poco l’alzare a dismisura il prezzo delle cose, pensando con ciò di farsene merito appresso il possessore. Con tutto ciò io son di parere, che egli finalmente si renderà al di lei volere, essendo desideroso di far danaro, e forse anche avendone bisogno" (BnM, Ms. It.
