-Lettre du 29 mai 1733 (de Venise): He is grateful for the Emperor’s kindness for excusing him on account of his age from journeying to his court at Vienna, and enjoying peace and the company of his friends. O. knows well of the great mutual affection between him and his brother Peter Cathaninus, and his brother’s affection and admiration for O. Now he is left bewailing his brother’s death and out of piety and as an inheritance from his brother it is his pleasure to cultivate the same friendships. Not being at Vienna he must leave it to O. to ask others to examine the MS. codices of the Imperial library, and has written to Garellius, prefect of the library. Failing Vienna O. might inspect my own smaller but diligently cared for and reviewed collection of ancient coins, the series of which he is intending to publish. ...There are a few books he would like, i.e., Havercamp’s last edition of R. Calaber Morell’s Collection with Havercamp’s commentary; Hesychius’ Lexicon with Junius’ translation. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 486 fols. 246-247).
