Lettre du 13 mars 1686 (de Padoue) : Patin said he had bought a lot of «nigri» - silver - coins for 80.00 lira, found in an antique case covered with leather in which there were many denarii, including the «rarissimi» Didius Iulianus and Pertinax, but also some counterfeit coins of Pescennius and Antinoo; à propos de Spon «He was always a true and devoted friend» (Padova, Museo Bottacin, MB 855, c.
