-Letter of 21 Dec. 1687 (from): "Quae de Minervae celeberrimo Athenis templo a tormentis bellicis Venetorum in ultima obsidione vobis penitus deleto Vaillantio nostro narras, non erunt admodum grata studiosis antiquitatis, nec etiam quae de numismatibus aureis Morosini furto sublatis et fusis a latronibus in massasque redactis; queis nihil profuit prudentia testatoris, qui ut essent servata Reipublicae ea legaverat: saltem nobis aliquatenus conservavit in indice Patinus [...] Hic brevi dabit Vaillantius primum volumen suarum Coloniarum ...
