'Aghtbare wyse discrete ende seer goetgunstighe Cousyn Ortels, sints mijnen lesten gheeme doort schryuen van Cousyn Cool gehoort van vL welstaet, also wij oock noch syn Gode loff, desen sal dienen, om de ingeslotene te bewegen, so mijn sone niet aldaer ware, moght dien eens per amis wedersenden, wy hebben hier wt Seelant in langen gheen brieuen vemomen. Cousyn Cool heeft nu een register van myn Meegdalien gemaeckt; ick schryfse nu wt, en de sal ouer Zeelant de Catalogus senden daer synder al eenighe na syn seggen die vL niet en heeft, sulter mij vL opinie van schrijuen, watsij alie deen door dander moghten weert sijn, syn meest seer nette. Ick hebbe nu bycans den 17 hoeck Historie beschreuen sende dat ouer metten eersten, dan dat volck, die dien drucken, laten daer wt na hun goetduncken ende luimen, dan so sulcks in het latyn doen sullen niet wel doen, ende soude mij leet syn.
