Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 13 mars 1692 (de Florence) : « Accepi nuper epistolam de trinummo Samaritano intra album folium; uti olim antea recepi epistolam aliena manu, ac ignoti mihi caracteris, nomine samen Toiriardi scriptam, qua ludus ibi ab Jo. Hard. factus describebatur; cum multi se litterati conveniant, ac ad plerosque tu quoque adeas, ullum ne auctoris ejus epistolae vestigium tibi innotuit ? […] Rogavi amicum Bononiæ, quem noram Antirrethicon Harduinianum emisse, ut eumdem ad me librum transimitteret ; legi, ac subnotavi supra octoginta errata hominis omnia scribentis ex ingenio, quasi fabulas compingeret, ac non historica monumenta, quæ Romanorum scriptorum testimoniis confirmanda erant, ut aliquam eisdem suis diétis fidem circum posieret. est totus hospes in Romanis rebus; juro me nullum hactenus ejus molis, quæ parva est, volumen legisse, in quo tot errata erratis subinde addensentur. at tamen vanissimus Antiquariorum, immo unus ac solus Antiquarius sibi triumphum canit, ac implet tympanum, & turgescit, quacumque bulla ventosior » (Noris 1741, lettre CCI, col. 374-375).
