Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

Lettre du 20 juin 1728 (sans lieu): He wishes his Journey success wherever it takes him, and vouches to aid him here if requested. He refers to a «museum» of ancient coins for O’s. inspection and enquiry as to purchase (part of the passage illegible and too many abbreviations). He has been engaged in astronomical observation of Venus for the purpose of an edition, and O. shall have it as soon as it is printed. He is writing a commentary on the antiquities of the? palace and the ornaments discovered in it in which he has made use of O’s. finds brought from Sicily. He praises O’s. aptitude and diligence, as shown in his researches. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 486 fol. 85).
