-Lettre du 10 nov. 1657 : critique de Francesco Angeloni et de Strada qui ne distinguent pas les modernes des antiques et qui sont dès lors discrédités à Paris comme à Rome : « Averto pero V.S. a valersi poco dell’autorittà dello Strada e meno dell’Angeloni, perché in Parigi et in Roma, sono troppo diffamati appresso tutti gl’antiquari, di haver hauto poca cognitione dell’antichità delle medaglie, havendone ambedue ne’ loro libri poste molte che sono publicamente moderne, dico appresso gl’antiquari et percio non se ne vaglia o quel meno che puole. Servale d’avviso (se non lo sapesse) che Monsieur Tristano ha scritto contro detto Angelone, che percio se sentisse alcuno che di lui si valesse, credo che facilmente prenderia occasione di censurarlo » ; à propos d’une monnaie de Florianus (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 207, note 170, p. 208, note 177, p. 268, note 218).
