-Lettre du 12 juil. 1705 : sur la viste de Edmund Chishull (1671-1733) « Anglus, cui nomen Chishull me etiam invisit, lustravit numismata mea & libraria supellectilem, et miror imo plusquam miror, eum de nullis veteribus inscriptionibus egisse mecum » ; sur la mention de Prytanes sur les monnaies chez Spanheim et Vaillant : « neque modo Athenis ; sed etiam in Asiae urbibus Prytanes fuerunt ; ut Smyrnae, quemadmodul patet ex nummo, quem illustravit excellentis vir dignitatis Ezech. Spanheimius, cui inscriptum est , qui docet eosdem etiam Rhodiis & Cumaeis fuisse. Quibus adde Milesios ex nummo Sept. Severi apud Vaillantium. Illud autem gratis ideo notandum, quia & in aliis multis inscriptionibus viri illustres dicuntur gratis & absque ulla urbium impensa, munia publica obivisse » (Cuper 1743, XI, p. 554 et p. 558).
