-Letter of 27 Jan. 1700 (from Deventer): "Quod ad linguam copticam attinet, Harduinum utique nihil moror, quia eo est ingenio ut nobis nihil nisi paradoxa vel velit vel possit tradere, uti patet ex Chronologia Veteris Testamenti et Numismatibus saeculi Constantiniani, qui bini libri a capite ad calcem pleni sunt novis, iisque absurdis plane, opinionibus, uti plusquam quingentis, si non mile, exemplis docere si id ageretur possem, sed sub Herculis sidère natus sit oportet qui innumera atque ab omni vero aliéna placita redarguere susciperet ! Et quid cum viro erudilo agas. qui rejectis omnium Historicorum testimoniis (quos scilicet heri aut Nudius tertius fictos et suppositos putat), tot nobis Constantinos ex nummis profert qui ignorantur a fide dignissimis scriptoribus Lactantio, Libanio, A. Marcellino, atque adeo ipso Imperatori Juliano.
