-Letter of 22 Febr. 1707 (from Deventer): "Johannes Clericus, tomo XI, de sa Bibliothèque choisie, explicavit varios nummos Gaditanos, et Barius in eo est, ut edat alios Hispanos, diversis et incognitis characteribus insignes, quorum alphabetum sese inventurum putat, et spem quasi certam facit mihi vir elegantis ingenii, qui per 20. annos mercatoribus Batavis Hispani impositus, et Hispanias subinde negotiorum suorum causa peragrans, stupendam plane gazam collegit, id est, ultra octo millia nummorum veterum, quorum plurimi inediti, et tot res eximias continent, ut quoties ad eos accedo, loties rapiar in admirationem"; "Egi cum Gallando nostro, de nummo, quem possideo, inprimis raro ; quod si Parisiis adhuc agis cum viro, quaeso, qui hasce tibi litteras reddet, loquere ; et me doce, quid de re tam rara et parum obvia, et forte Basilidianorum nobis somnia exhibente, statuendum sit" (Pélissier 1902-1905, Lettre XII, 1903, p. 71-2).
