-Lettre du 4 juillet 1704 (de Berlin) : « Je vous ai fait tenir un petit imprimé d’un antiquaire de Suède, où il croit que la monnaie que le publicateur de la dernière Edition de Camdenus a fait marquer le Dieu Thor honoré par les vieux peuples teutoniques comme le maître du tonnerre, ne doit être entendu que de la figure de notre seigneur, comme la Croix le fait connaître entre autres raisons. Et je suis fort de son sentiment, comme je trouve aussi que la plupart des monuments runiques de la Scandie font voir des figures de la Croix et par conséquent des marques du christianisme, et ne sont nullement d’une antiquité païenne reculée comme plusieurs antiquaires du Septentrion le prétendent » (Babin 2012, nr. 357, p. 503-4 ; Callataÿ 2015, p. 315, II.21).
