Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

Lettre du 12 juillet 1729 (d’Aix): Abstract: Concerning medals. Mons. le President has sent him as a present engravings of his interesting ones and more are coming in, including nine Greek medallions from Smyrna of which he would be grateful for your experts’ conjectural explanations. He compliments O. on becoming «un grand Médailliste». He mentions works he will provide for O. if he so wishes, with their prices, but Godefroy’s Theodosiean code which O. wants is not for sale. He explains his view of a sensible arrangement between them for equating their reciprocal transactions in the different coinages, floring and livres. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 488 f° 115-116).
