Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

As to the alteration of hands, I must begin with the Marbles and Medals as being any older than any books now extant. These Inscriptions and Coins as well as MSS I must view with my own eyes, for I will rely on no mans judgment whatsoever, nor will obtrude any thing on the world, but I will name the place where the original is to be seen. (Wanley 1989, pp. 67-71 Letter 37; Burnett 2020b, p. 1245)
