Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 29 décembre 1744 (de Groenendaal, Belgique) : It is impossible to do more than refer to a few of the items covered in this immensely long letter, e.g., ... (3) Zwietenius the Leyden doctor is going to settle at Vienna; and the illustrious Count Thomsius is said to be deserting his wife in her pregnancy and gone to Paris. [ [He retails all the sorry gossip]. ] ... (7) He refers to Havercamp’s and another collection of coins containing many noteworthy ones; these would sell well if people were as keen on coins as they used to be. He enlarges on the subject of coins. (8)... . (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 498, f° 80-85).
