Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 11 août 1774 (de Lapal House, West Midlands): He has taken inscriptions of 3 Saxon princes from Dr. Henry’s History of Great Britain, which he thanks N. for lending him. He thanks him for the little Oxon. token; corrects his notion that the two Roman coins were consular coins; and says he would be glad to buy any Greek or Roman coins he may lack, as he has no English coins left to barter with. He recommends N. to stick to English coins on which he is an expert, and not go in for collecting Roman and Greek coins, which he will never be able to do in Birmingham. He touches on his need for coins of five of the Roman emperiors which are rare. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Eng. misc. d. 146, f° 35).
