Lettre du 9 sept. 1666 (de Rome) : « Gli mando ancora la nota delli due medaglioni di Mammea et Alessandro suo figlio, li quali sono a mio parere assai eruditi, ma la conservazione non corrisponde al resto, non essendo interamente conservati… Medaglione con tutto il busto sopra una mezza luna ha di roverso una grande figura vestita sedente, a me pare un Giove, tiene una figurina nuda con la destra vicino al petto con lettere attorno… Medaglione con tutto il busto tiene con il braccio destro un serpente avvolto nella verga d’Esculapio, ha di roverso una corona adornata con sei piccole teste… Li medaglioni sono veri et reali antichi, il padrone domanda in grazia a Vostra Altezza Serenissima che non sieno venduti in Roma non essendo stati più veduti, et me li fiderà acciò l’Altezza Vostra Serenissima li possa vedere » (Firenze, ASF, Carteggio d’artisti, XVII, c. 605-606 ; M.
