Lettre du 24 mars 1634 : Jacques Carteron est « fort disrcedité en ses curiositez, parce qu’il avait si parfaitement contrefait les bonnes médailles antiques et gravures qu’on a donné tout ce qu’il avait à fort vil pris et a-t-on trouvé chés lui tous les instrumens et quantité de copies qu’il avait contrefait sur l’antique, capables de tromper les plus habiles » (voir Missere Fontana 2009, p. 295, note 366).
