Lettre du 20 mars 1778 (de Rome): "[...] Le medaglie delle famiglie si van trovando, ed anche a prezzi discreti. Varie delle altre si avranno con un po' di tempo. Vi è in vendita un medaglione in bronzo colla testa di Achille, da cui suol regolarsi la fisionomia dell'eroe che trovasi in marmi e in bronzo; nel rovescio vi è Tetide colla sua iscrizione. Ne chieggono 6 zecchini ed è sincerissimo. Quello d'oro di cui le scrissi, quantunque di Gallieno, è stato pagato dall'Eminentissimo Albani, 150 scudi, prezzo esorbitante. Nel Museo Gualtieri, che ora si vende, ve n'è uno stupendo in oro di Gioviano, ma sento che sia già fermato pel Museo Vaticano.
