-Lettre du 18 novembre 1726 (de Leiden) : He is first concerned with codices of the Thebaid and Silvae, but his main interest is in early coinages, especially unedited ones; and he is very curious about those of the Greek cities and Greek kings; which provoke queries. He suggests the most fruitful places to which to go and agents to approach: and mentions several thousand coins bought for him, which he is daily awaiting. He proceeds to retail items, of information, e.g. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 486 fol. 63).
