Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

'Mr Perry having brought me a Manuscript from the Duke of Devonshire, containing a catalogue of his medals, with a verbal message "that he wished I would purchase such English medals for him as were wanting in his Cabinet, & I could meet with at auctions or elsewhere"; resolved to wait upon the Duke to know his inclinations fully on the matter. Went to him accordingly, & was handsomely received. Had a long conversation with him, and accepted, willingly, his commission, tho’ new and delicate in its kind. Presented the Duke with a copper medal of ‘Bellisle taken’ the only one undisposed of in England, which he accepted obligingly.' (Burnett 2020b, p. 1644)
