'Y^r favour of Feb’ the 12^th Came to hand a very few days since; occasion’d by his Excellency’s Illness. I am very sorry the Albinus is a Counterfeit, but hope the Rest answer y^r Expectation. Dr Pikerus esteemd y^t so much as to send an Impression of y^t to M^r Cuper, taking it to be a true & very valuable one. I must confess, I suspected y^t at first sight, but was Over-ruld by the D^r, who was very positive as to its Antiquity. S^r, As to y^or being dissatisfyed w^th my Account of Them; I believe you to be more of a Gentleman, & if any unguarded Expression was in my Leter, & gave Offence, I beg pardon; & Desire you’l entertain a better Opinion of me yⁿ to imagine I have the Vanity to take any Exceptions at my Betters, whatever my welch blood & want of temper may provoke me To, where I take myself to be upon the Par.'
