'"A Book of all such the kings Pictures As are by his Maiests. Especiall appoyntment placed at this present time remayning in Whitehall in the Severall Severall placees followeinge". Written in the hand of a scribe, but with copious corrections, expansions and extensive additions by Van der Doort. Certain sections added, apparently after the completion of the first draft of the MS. and probably by another scribe.' (Millar 1960, p. xvii)
