You have obligd me by y^e Pains you have taken to gratifie me in yo^r Letter of y^e 1^st Instant & y^e Catalogue y^t attended y^e Medals; &, to say y^e Truth, w^thout yo^r Assistance my Cabinet would shine more yⁿ my understanding. Altho some part of yo^r Labour has been unnecessary, for several of those Medals you have decipher’d (w^ch seem so plain as not to need it) were sent as duplicates for yo^r Service & were distinct fro’ y^e rest, & I suppose by some Accident became mixt together. The silver Coyns you mention will add to my stock & be acceptable, (except ΙΣΤΙΑΙΕΩΝ) y^e rest are ΤΑΡΕΝΤΩΝ, ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ ΘΑΣΙΩΝ, ΑΡ ΓΕ, 2 serpentes intorti X. serpens e’ cista exiliens, ΜΑΣΣΑΛΙΗΤΩΝ; caput Iovis Ammon’ X Plante Silphiu’! As for an exact Adjustm^t of o^r acco^t I cannot give you, partly bec. I am fled fro’ y^e Plague to y^e Village & at a distance fro’ my Papers, but I have sent you the Weight in some former Letters, & partly bec they were purchasd some at 8 per’ p’ drachm, others at an Asper more, so y^t if you recollect y^e Weight please to make up y^e acco^t of w^t remainder may be a little more or less. The Julia Domna of Parlais is better disposd of yⁿ if it were w^th me. You will excuse my Brevity wⁿ I tell you y^t I am again relapsd into my old Distemper, y^e Ague, w^ch regularly attends me after about a months Cessation. I am w^th all possible respect
