'Mr Consul Carew has sent me a fine parcell [of coins], & I am in hopes of y^e continuance of his fav^r all along y^e coast, as well as in ye inland cities, they are to be met wth & I wish you woud please to use y^r interest wth y^e Consul at Acra in procuring of them. There are yet several cities I have none of, as Orthosia, Gabala, Gadara, Capitolias, Epiphania, Arethusa. Leucadia, Anazarbus, Ptolemais, Paneas, Dorus, Gaba, Botrys, Byblus, Raphia, Diospolis, Paltus, Tiberias & tis probable there may be other cities in y^r parts of w^ch no medals are yet described. I have met w^th above twenty, not mentiond by authors, w^ch will be an addition to y^e Geographicall, as y^e others will be to y^e Chronologicall part.'
