Lettre du 17 janvier 1567 (de Rome): "Hò indugiato tanto à rispondere a V. S. Reverendissima per poterle mandare il libro delle inscrittioni che le fò copiare in un medesimo tempo, mà poiche non vedo poterlo fare con questo spaccio, la salutarò solamente, et al primo, farò tutto il restante insieme, cio è mandarle l’inscrittioni et scriverle lungamente. II Cardinale hà compro i libri et medaglie di Pirro per 1500 contanti di moneta, et 10 di provisione il mese fine che viva il Signor Pirro. E' comparso quà un libro de Fasti con le medaglie consulari del Goltzio, cosa bella, mà imperfetta. La inscrittione di C. Duilio in quella lingua antica Romana è nel libro dell’orthografia d'Aldo ne la voce Cartaginensis correttissima; et io fratanto le mando queste due, con baciarle le mani per infinite volte.
