Lettre du 18 septembre 1780 (de Montepulciano): "[...] Spero di terminar nella settimana il mio lavoro in casa del Signor Bucelli. L'ultimo dì che impiegai a ordinare il meglio che si è potuto e a descrivere il medagliere, trovai fra le medaglie, o piuttosto monete delle città, quasi tutte toscane, un bellissimo Niceforo III in argento. E' del tipo stesso che è in oro presso Bandurio; ma né questi ultimi, né altri, a mia notizia, lo ha mai pubblicato in argento.
