-Lettre du 5 novembre 1569 (de Venise) : Ligorio pense que ces médaillons ont été produits par « Popoli Regini, o Scillacei, perché qui in fatto nascono in gran copia simili animali. La qual dichiarazione io le scrissi allora, che mi quadrava assai ; vedendosi molti popoli greci, et altri ancora aver segnate quelle medaglie ch’essi batevano agl’Imperatori Romani delle imprese delle loro città, overo di cose per le quali esse volevano essere distinte dalle altre » ; avec une allusion à « quei popoli, che la batterono » (Vicenza, Biblioteca civica Bertoliana, Ms 277, f° 165v-166r ; F.
