Lettre du 31 mars 1568 (de Rome) : annunciando di avere trovato un nuovo antiquario per il Duca, ovvero Ligorio, il De Grandi annota di avere « fatto vedere le medaglie da persone intelligenti et cavatone quello che si è possuto come V. Ecc.a vederà da una informatione mia data al d° S.r Caval. (il Cavalier Camillo Gualengo ?) », intendendo probabilmente dar notizia di un consulto chiesto in tema di medaglie ad antiquari romani per il Duca, che, morto il Vico l’anno prima, non aveva più un antquario ducale esperto di questi temi (Modena, ASMo, ASE, Cancelaria Ducale, Ambasciatori, Roma, b. 71, n. 337/11 ; Missere Fontana 1995, p. 225-226).
