-Lettre du 12 août 1727 (de Palermo) : He writes in a vein of very high flown exclamatory admiration for G. and his city of Amsterdam, expressing profound regret at O’s. sudden departure from Palermo: and my abashment at O’s. deigning to praise his collection of ancient coins, O. whom he acclaims as citizen of Amsterdam that great world emporium and a scholar of surpassing erudition, whose horoscope is immeasurably superior to his own. He begs him to announce the location where he fixes his abode, to which he can send the facsimiles (extypa) of the {Sicilian} coins for him and for showing to your compatriot engravers (impressors) who desire additional material.
