Il me tarde de voir ce qu'aura fait l'Intagliatore qui fait vostre portrait. Avez vous veu quelque chose de bon de sa main? Il faut qu'ils soijent bien habiles gens pour approcher les anciens qui ont fait les coings des medailles. J'en ay eu quelque nombre de celles de cuivre dont on m'a fait present, et qui la plus part sont bien conservées et bien seures. il y en a environ 250. Un eschevin d'Amsterdam n'agueres decedé les avoit apportees en son jeune aage d'Italie et navoit jamais voulu s'en defaire quoy que l'on luy en offrist. apres sa mort ses fils m'ont laissé choisir ce nombre d'entre plus de 2000. qu'il y avoit. Il y a d'assez bons revers parmy.
