Lettre du 25 février 1731 (de Dijon): Abstract: In due course he asks O. to send him Markland’s Statius, Arnand’s variant lections, and Burmann’s minor poets. He describes the contents of the packet he has sent O. (they concern medals). He very much enjoys the variant lections of Horace. I have MSS. of de Bello Gallico of 15th century, but it would be difficult to find any scholar who would collate them. Le Bret, President of the Provence Parliament, tells me he is going to send you a paper on some Greek inscriptions from monuments sent from Smyrna. I count on the Jesuits who will soon be returning from Rome to bring inter alia Argelati’s new edition of Occo. Other works he mentions are Boiso’s «Roma sotterranea» and Stuckius’«Antiquitates Conviviales». (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 492 f° 69-70).
