-Lettre du 8 juin 1761 (de Caversham, Berkshire) : He is very glad that D. was pleased with the papers on the A.-G. coins. He comments on the gold medal of AVIDUS and a similarly superscribed one of Jul. NEPOS purchased at auction. He agrees with Dr. Browne Willis’ high repute among antiquaries and mentions that Hearne drew upon him for some facts in several of his chronicles. He has nothing to contribute towards a memoir of Dr. Ward, justly termed a great and good man. But he will be prepared to comment on his papers before publication, if he can be given a sight of them.
