Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 26 août 1784 (de Lapal House, West Midlands): He reports interesting numismatic conversations with Mr. Barker. He would like to see Pegge’s Curialia and Schiffer’s history of Lapland. He regrets that he cannot study Saxon coins except from books; but he is proud of his Roman collection. He has made great friends with the new vicar; who has lived many years in Jamaica. He hopes N’s interview with Lord Ferrers gave him much pleasure; he wishes he would give N. a fat living with a curate, leaving N. free to occupy the library. He has had an incoherent rigmarole of a letter from his brother, which he will not answer for the present. He gives overleaf the pedigree of Gustavus III, King of Sweden. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Eng. misc. d. 149, f° 239-240).
