-Lettre du 26 août 1784 (de Lapal House, West Midlands): He reports interesting numismatic conversations with Mr. Barker. He would like to see Pegge’s Curialia and Schiffer’s history of Lapland. He regrets that he cannot study Saxon coins except from books; but he is proud of his Roman collection. He has made great friends with the new vicar; who has lived many years in Jamaica. He hopes N’s interview with Lord Ferrers gave him much pleasure; he wishes he would give N. a fat living with a curate, leaving N. free to occupy the library. He has had an incoherent rigmarole of a letter from his brother, which he will not answer for the present. He gives overleaf the pedigree of Gustavus III, King of Sweden.
