-Lettre du 6 juillet 1764 ( ?) : sur un aureus de Vespasien découvert par La Falloize : « Le Cabinet des médailles du roi n’est point de mon district ; c’est M. l’abbé Barthélemy qui est chargé de la collection des médailles de Sa Majesté. Je pense qu’il faut que vous lui écriviez pour savoir si celle que vous avez découverte peut avoir sa place dans ce Cabinet ; c’est un homme très versé dans ce genre, qui vous dira ce qu’il en pense » (Paris, Archives Nationales, O1 1910, f° 63 ; Sarmant 1994, p. 194, note 73).
