Lettre du 18 octobre 1727 (de Vienne): "Tenetevi caro il libro de’ Medaglioni del Museo Certosino : poichè sarà sempre rarissimo, e sarà difficile, che qui se ne tirino altri esemplari" ; "Son bene impiegate le lodi, che avete date nel Giornale all’opera dei Medaglioni Pisani. S’io fossi stato per altro in Venezia avanti la pubblicazione di essa, vi avrei fatti ammendare molti gravi errori corsi nelle leggende, massimamente Greche, dei Medaglioni. Di più non avrei lasciato che si attribuisse nella Tavola XIX. un medaglione che è di Faustina juniore, moglie di Marco Aurelio, a Faustina seniore, moglie di Antonino Pio, battuto in Tiana. Di più avrei avvertito, che tutti i medaglioni che si assegnano a Costanzo Cloro, padre di Costantino, sono fuor d’ogni dubbio di Costanzo juniore, figliuolo di Costantino. Ma al fatto non v’è rimedio, e ‘l parlarne adesso sarebbe un far dispiacere a quel dignissimo senatore" (Zeno 1752, vol. 2, lettre n° 251, p. 497; Zeno 1785, vol. 4, lettre n° 729, p. 219-220; Tomassoni 2021).
