4 April 1722 (from Paris): “Je reçus avant-hier, Monsieur, vingt quatre exemplaires de votre riche cabinet, dont quatre reliés en veau. Je ne les donnerai qu’à des connaisseurs ; plusieurs m’en ont demandé. Outre que le cabinet est très considérable en lui-même, le catalogue en est fait d’une habile main, cela fait qu’on s’empresse de l’avoir. Je vous dirai même que je suis obligé de le donner en secret à des connaisseurs, parce qu’autrement je serais accablé du nombre de demandeurs” (Capitaine 1855, no. 27).
