Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

Lettre du 24 février 1686 (de Padoue) : The selling of Jacob Spon’s book Ignotorum atque obscurorum quorundam deorum arae (Lugduni 1676) happened after the news of the author’s death, of which a disconsolate Patin gave notice to Averoldi: «I will prepare an epitaph if and when time wipes the tears away [...] He had been the most dear among dear friends» (Padova, Museo Bottacin, MB 855, c. [66] ; voir Callegari 2020).
