-Lettre du 9 otobre 1783 (de Den Haag) : « J’attend l’antique du feu Baron avec impatience. Je voudroit que vous eussiez vu ceux de Millotti et entendu les prix qu’il avoit refusé de quelques unes au duc de Marlbourg. Vous n’auriez voulu aucune de ses pierres gravées pour 6 ducats; parmis les camées deux etoient beaux, l’un grec mais cassé en six morceaux et d’ailleurs fort mal conservé, l’autre petit, representant Philoctete souffrant de son pied, dont j’ai eu la cruauté de prouver la modernité à Mr. Millotti. Ces deux pièces etoient une affaire de ƒ 4000 à ƒ 5000. Milliotti avec deux autres ont acheté à Amsterdam à la vente de Loquet pour ƒ 10.000 de tableaux. Un petit Potter assez bon ƒ 14.000 etc. etc. Il semble que la rage pour les pierres et les tableaux augmente à mesure de l’inpossibilité d’en trouver de vrai bon » (Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Münster, Gallitzin-Nachlaß Band 6 ; Sluis 2010, lettre 4/71, p. 183).
