-Lettre du 13 déc. 1659 : Gottifredi fait un recueil à l’imitation de celui d’Occo : « mi honori di farmile non desegnare, ma descrivere solamente comme ha fatto l’Occone » ; « cognoscendo esser quasi impossibile che si compisca et venga a luce l’opera già da me sotto la direttione di V.S. illustrissima incomenciata, ha intrapreso di descrivere nel modo che ha fatto l’Occone tutte le mie medaglie, con alcune altre più poche da me vedute, tutte indubitatamente antiche et spera poter terminare l’opera nella seguente estate, il che quando segua non sarrà poco acquisto per gli studiosi dell’antichità, havendo un libro di medaglie tutte antiche et nessuna falsa delle quali n’abonda tanto quello dell’Occone » “il s.r D. Francesco Cameli cognoscendo esser quasi impossibile che si conpisca et venga a Luce l’opera già da me sotto la direzione di Vostra Signoria Illustrissima incomenciata, ha intrapreso di descrivere nel modo che ha fatto l’Occone tutte le mie medaglie con alcune altre poche da me vedute, tutte indubitatamente antiche et spera poter terminar l’opera nella seguente estate il che quando segua non sarrà poco acquisto per gli studiosi delle antichità havendo niuno libro di medaglie tutte antiche et nessuna falsa delle quali n’abonda tanto quello dell’Occone.” (His Lordship Don Francesco Cameli, being aware that it was almost impossible for me to finish and bring to light the work I had begun under the direction of your Lordship, began to describe, like Occo had done, all my coins with some others I had looked at, undoubtedly ancient.
