-Lettre du 1 avril 1710 (de Deventer) : remercie Bignon pur un mémoire sur les monnaies obsidionales ; p. 239 : « Je vous ai entretenu, Monsieur, sur une médaille de bronze, dont un monstre à six ailes occupe le revers. Mr. Reland m’a fait savoir que l’illustre Du Cange dans ses Additamenta ad Constantinopolim Christianam, subjuncta notis ad Zonarae Annales p. 148. fait mention d’une médaille où il y a d’un côté deux têtes des empereurs avec la légende ANDRONIKI MHCAI, et de l’autre, un chérubin à six ailes ; cette médaille se trouve dans le cabinet des Sainte-Geneviève, et appartient selon Mr. Reland à Andronicus Senior et à Michael son fils. Cette pièce doit bien être curieuse, et n’y aurait-il pas moyen d’en avoir une copie ? J’espère que le savant Père Banduri fera entrer cette médaille dans son beau livre, dont le retardement me fait languir » (Cuper 1743, XVII, p. 238-9).
