-Lettre du 15 déc. 1704 (de Déventer) : « Ex Jacopo de Bary, viro amplissimo, plus semel intellexi, te multum prostigasse in illustrandis nummis Gaditadnorum et aliis in Hispania percussis ; utinam et iis lucem accendere posses, qui incognitis et barbaris characteribus sunt insignes, et nos deocere, an sint Gothici vel Runici scriptionem nunc illustrat Otto Sperlingius, vir utique doctissimus, et rerum, quae ad Septentrionem pertinent abstrusae atque reconditae, promus condus, ne quid de eruditione viri Graeca, Latina, imo omnigena, quae fulget, dicam » (Cuper 1743, VII, p. 354).
