-17 April 1787 (from Monreale): „Die Mönche ließen uns ihre Sammlungen sehen. Von Altertümern und natürlichen Sachen verwahren sie manches Schöne. Besonders fiel uns auf eine Medaille mit dem Bilde einer jungen Göttin, das Entzücken erregen mußte. Gern hätten uns die guten Männer einen Abdruck mitgegeben, es war aber nichts bei Handen, was zu irgend einer Art von Form tauglich gewesen wär" (FA I 15, 1, p. 266; Ehling 2022, p. 463, note 43).
