8 Oct. 1741 (from Liège): “En attendant la grâce de vos nouvelles, je prends la liberté de joindre en cette (sic!) la description d’une de mes anciennes monnaies de France ; elle est d’or fin de la grandeur et du poids avec quelques grains plus d’un ducat. Je pense que c’est un franc où florin d’or du duc Robert mentionné à la page 286 du 1er tome de vos excellents Monuments de la monarchie française, et ne l’ayant trouvé dans le traité de Mr Le Blanc, j’ai cru que sa connaissance pourrait peut-être vous faire plaisir” (Paris, BnF, Fonds français 17705, f° 204r-205r: “Descriptio antiquae monetae aureae et conservatissimae apud B. de Cr. Leod.”).
