|Grand document=Lettre du 30 août 1731 (d’Arnhem): He describes how after leaving O’s. hospitable roof he went to Cleves where he found few antiquities of interest apart from an overrated statue, but was delighted with a wonderful collection of Roman antiquities, especially coins in the library of a consul of the towns, all found in the neighbourhood: and thence to Zutphen, where he saw many unusual and largely unknown statues, coins and other antique relics and brought away a catalogue which included a coin of Vitellius. Many of the stone monuments have been described by Cuper, surprisingly inaccurately as to interpretation. He sends O. the coin of Timoclea to convince him of its genuineness. He proceeds to expound his ideas on the coin of Vaballathus brought to his notice by Bouhier. The exposition is lengthy and most elaborately documented from out of the way sources. He refers again to the coin of Timocleon for O’s. opinion, and reviews the scope and character of the antiquities as Cleves district has to show.
