Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

Lettre du 1 décembre 1733 (d’Arnhem): Concerning his disgust with the bookseller whom he had engaged under an agreement to print his book. All had gone expeditiously till it came to adding as an appendix in the shape of Muntingius’ Herba Britannica which he refused to undertake as outside the agreement which was to print Brittenburg and my observations. Further, he (the bookseller) backed out of his verbal promise to print my mediaeval historians, and he had the face to ask me for the books containing illustrations, e.g., Seguinus’ selection of coins, etc.; and the impudence to send them back soiled, the whole lot of them; and he was so stupid as to ask me to excuse him to you. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 495 fols. 23-24).
